Frequently, researchers are turning to on-line formats for collecting data from target populations. As such, there is no need for hard copies of instruments, but rather materials must be in a format that can be loaded electronically into these on-line platforms. There is a licensing fee associated with this that is the instrument’s individual cost. For example, if one were interested in using the ASPIRES in a study involving 100 subjects, the licensing fee would be $60.00. This agreement must be signed and the fee paid prior to placing the scale on-line. If more than the anticipated number of administrations occur, the user will need to remit the requisite fee for these additional usages. So, given the above example, if the user actually administered 110 ASPIRES on the electronic platform, then the user must remit an additional $6.00.
